Softwate Update

With much fanfare, we’d like to finally announce the launch of the WebEden blog feature – now available for you in all its glory!

We’ve been taking about the new blog feature for the best part of 2 years, and it has been a long and intense bit of work to finally produce it. The product is still in beta so we’re really like to hear if you have any comments about how we can improve it.

To start with, we’ve got 9 awesome templates that are blog specific for you to choose from. If you prefer then you can just use a standard template.

If you just want to add a blog to your website, get started by clicking the new ‘blog’ button on the WebEden toolbar

That gets you into the new Dashboard:

from where you can add an Text Post, and image post, or an article post:

The two other main options from the dashboard are to manage your posts, or your comments:

Within settings you can control general stuff like posts per page, comments per page, author info, comments management, and where you want to upload images to:

That’s it

We’re really happy to get this product live, and we hope you enjoy using it. We’d really like to know if you have any feedback about the blog feature. Let us know what you think below, or the WebEden Facebook page or on Twitter.

Huzzah!!! At last. Now, I have a question – if a client then decides to move away from webeden to a website on a different platform – is the blog lost or can it be used elsewhere?

    Looks fablas ;-)

I really love the blog and think that it has added so much to my site. Will the search, categegories/tags and archives blog widgets be available soon like the ones for this blog?

Nice addition but sadly, still not able to change a font colour individually which puts our website back years!

  • David Townsend

how do you add it to a page onthe website please

  • Simon Posner

First comment – your second opening paragraphs has a typing error and a grammatical error.

Second comment – Would be great to have access to the html of the pages a. For back up and b. To do fancy stuff your platform doesn’t feature

Third comment – When will it be possible to change the font which is really basic stuff?

I am extremly sorry about the mistakes but plz do not be so critical thankyou!!!

Just read your reply and thought to myself that really Simon has a point on the grammar and typo’s. If you are putting a review or announcement out to the world on the web surely you should have spell check?
This is a basic thing that every person who puts things up for others to read needs to check. I should know, I have my things proof read all the time as I have dyslexia.
Don’t be defensive, take the criticism and use it to help you for the future.
I am yet to use the blog template as with everything on webeden I am dubious till it has been up for a while and the ‘kinks’ have been worked on.

I have resisted switching to wordpress for the last six months waiting for this blog, very happy to see it up and running but feel its still miles behind other blogging tools.

Are we likely to be able to embed html into the blog anytime soon? It would be very useful to be able to embed youtube, soundcloud or vimeo content in the posts.

That is a very good question and i shall bring this up with Development team

      • Jamie

look like its time to switch to wordpress then
